Kristen D. Hoops is a Master’s level Licensed Social Worker. She has been working with Allied Behavioral Health Services since June 2008. Ms. Hoops earned a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Youngstown State University. Upon graduating she further pursued her interest in human behavior and social work and graduated with a Master’s of Social Work degree with a concentration in mental health, also from Youngstown State University. During this time Ms. Hoops discovered her interest specifically in mental health counseling. While enrolled in the masters program she completed a year long internship working with children and families in an outpatient setting experiencing mental health and behavioral health issues. Ms. Hoops also has experience working within the areas of child welfare and developmental and physical disabilities.
Ms. Hoops provides a variety of counseling services working at Allied Behavioral Health Services. She uses a client-centered and strengths based approach to treating anxiety, depression, behavioral disorders, mood disorders, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, family and childhood issues, and substance abuse issues. Ms. Hoops has experience working with children from six to eighteen years of age, families, adults, and ex-offenders. She believes that building upon each client’s individual strengths promotes a positive and balanced approach to each client’s specific treatment needs.
