Dr. Klein entered Psychiatry after three years of a full Pediatrics residency to focus on mental health issues of childhood and adolescence. In 1993, his interests shifted to the other end of the age spectrum, Geriatric Psychiatry where it has remained.

During this time, Dr. Klein became Medical Director of a Cleveland area nursing home (and possibly the only Cleveland area Psychiatrist to hold that title). Other Geriatric titles have included the first and only Medical Director of the Geriatric Partial Hospital Program of Lutheran Hospital from 1995-1996 at which time Dr. Klein first worked with Dr. Capezutto. Dr. Klein was the first Medical Director of the in-patient Geriatric Psychiatry unit at Southwest General Hospital in 2010. In recent years his interests have shifted back to younger adults at both Allied Behavioral Health and a Cleveland area community mental health program.

Dr. Klein’s role at Allied Behavioral Health is to evaluate and monitor patients for medication management to supplement their counseling or psychotherapy. Dr. Klein motto: “My approach is to use medication with discretion and not prescribe any medication without a specific purpose or goal.
